District Attorney Roberto Serna announced that 293rd Judicial District Attorney's Office, through the Border Prosecution Unit and the ZavalaCounty Sheriff's Office hosted a Cognitive Interviewing training presented by Mike Bryant, Retired Supervisory Special Agent Dept. of Justice poligraph program. The seminar was held on September 14 and was attended by over 30 law enforcement officers from different agencies, including the Maverick County Sheriff's Office, Zavala County Sheriff's Office, Dimmit County Sheriff's Office, Eagle Pass Police Department, Carrizo Springs Independent School District Police, Crystal City Police Department, Zavala County Constable Pct. 1 & 3. Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Maverick County Attorney's Office and Texas Rangers. The course provided participants with information focusing on unique, advanced interview skills that enhance and maximize the ability to collect critical and truthful information. The District Attorney's Office will continue to conduct trainings throughout the year to ensure that law enforcement agencies in Dimmit, Maverick, and Zavala Counties receive training and education to better protect our children, our elderly, our schools, and our communities.
